In theory, therefore, the buyer acquires ownership at the time of the agreement. After all, Belgium works with a consensual system: the sale comes about through the agreement. The fact that the buyer has not yet paid the price or received the keys is irrelevant.  

In practice, the ownership itself of a property is often transferred when the notarial deed is signed. This is also when you receive the keys to the property, by the way.
